Luscious Lakes - Tekapo, Pukaki and Ruataniwha

Lake Tekapo is just splendid and the association campsite for $3 a night each, on the lake's edge is unbelievable.
We were drawn back there after spending some lovely family time with our beautiful peops in Timaru.
After Tekapo,  we headed to Lake Pukaki to do a short section of the Alps to Ocean ride.  (I SO want to do that one day!)  The weather was bizarre. Stunning on one lake (Tekapo) then Pukaki was so shrouded in cloud that it was hard to know I'd there was a lake even there! So magical! Got very little riding done, as had to take photos every ten metres!
Drove on to Mount Cook but the DOC  site was RAMMED with people and PB was asleep, so we carried on to Twizel and dossed down in a freedom camping spot beside Lake Ruataniwha.
From Twizel , we headed to an association campsite on the way to Oamaru, stopping at Awamoko.
DH had a sleep while PB and I went back to explore the ancient Maori rock drawings and the Gaol at Duntroon.
Lovely warm balmy day exploring our world.
