See the Seals?

So, today we kicked things off with an 11km ride along the harbour edge from somewhere round the south side of the Forsyth Barr Stadium.  Bit nostalgic for me, heading down dirty ol' Dundas Street.
Lots of rowers out on the water and some other bikies,  but pretty nice way to start the day.  (Bit cold, but we are in Dunedin after all.  Think it was about 12 degrees when we were doing that.)
After that, we headed up the Otago Peninsula following a recommendation from a friendly chap in the ticket office at Larnach Castle. He had noticed our kayak on the roof, so suggested a spot to drop it in nearby, and directions to see seals and albatross. Well!  What a gem!
We followed his suggestion and put the kayak on at Weller's Rock and paddled around out towards the end of the peninsula.  It was an incoming tide, so we weren't in danger of being swept out to sea.
We managed to see seals (heaps! I reckon we would have seen around 40...)  a few penguins, heaps of shags and seagulls and even a couple of albatross sightings. It was a cold and dreary day, but what a great way to warm up and get out in it.
When we got home we had a dance party in the caravan with us each having requests of favourite songs.  Not surprisingly, PB is sleeping very soundly tonight!
