We headed up to the Franz Josef glacier look out with a wee bit of sun peeking through, which was wonderful.
The mist coming off the glacial river was really pretty on the way up.
The walk to the lookout was only 30 mins return, and it was quite a good view.
Home for morning tea - delicious home cooked apple and banana cake!
Then off we went, to Hokitika.
Cool little look around the wee town, posted some postcards and had a look at where the river and sea meets. Took some photos of the driftwood 'Hokitika' sign, and headed back to camp.
The Association campground is free at the moment, while they get resource consent sorted out, so we are freedom camping again!
The boys went for a ride from the campground along a track to the end of the river and start off the sea and played until the sun set.
Glorious sunset, then after dark we headed to the glow worm dell, to check out lots of lovely glowies just right there in the bush, just on the side of SH6! PB loves a night time adventure, so it was a hit.
